History of iMig logo

In 2000, the iMig logo was designed under the direction of V. Courtney Broaddus by a graphic designer and friend & neighbor, Michelle Clair. In keeping with the spirit of the iMig, the logo was designed as a volunteer effort.
The letter M in imig was used as the only capital letter to denote the key element, Mesothelioma, flanked and supported by the letters around it – for International and for Interest Group, a term chosen in 1991 to denote the informal, collegial organization envisioned for iMig.
The background for the logo was chosen as the globe, with all regions equally represented by a sinusoidal projection.
