After many years of service as Secretary of IMIG and as organizer of a past IMIG meeting in 2000, Steve Mutsaers was unanimously chosen as President of IMIG.
Steven Mutsaers is currently an Associate Professor, Senior Research Scientist and Research Group Leader at the Lung Institute of Western Australia (LIWA) and Centre for Asthma, Allergy and Respiratory Research, School of Medicine and Pharmacology, University of Western Australia (UWA). During a glittering banquet held at the Kyoto Hotel, Bruce Robinson and Hedy Kindler presented the Wagner Medal to Steve Albelda.   Dr. Albelda was recognized for his many years of creative and productive contributions to the field of mesothelioma.  He spoke of his commitment to the field and his hopes for new approaches to achieve a cure, an affirmation that was greeted with waves of applause.

The 46th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) will be held in Chicago, June 4-8, 2010. This year’s Annual Meeting will focus on Advancing Quality through Innovation. More than 30,000 cancer specialists from around the world will gather at the meeting to discuss the latest innovations in research, quality, practice and technology in cancer.
